Cailin in Frankfurter Rundschau

I can't deny that this year has started off pretty good for my blog :) You might remember the FAZ article about me (klick) which was published about three weeks ago and this Saturday, another one of Frankfurt's biggest newspapers, Frankfurter Rundschau, published one about me as well :) klick here to read it online! As you can see it's quite big, with five pictures of me and my room, and I really love the text!

I know, this post is quite random, but I just discovered this picture of me and lovely Yonas on Tims blog and since you can see one of my BFW looks on it and I really like the atmosphere of the picture I thought I'd share it with you. It was taken between the shows, we we're incredibly hungry so we went to Vapiano for lunch.

KARL - my faves

I'm sure you've all heard about it, I'm sure you've all seen it, so I'm not going to write a long article about the KARL collection which is available exclusively on net-a-porter.com, only this much : I love it! Black, white, grey, silver and burgundy - more than perfect!

Berlin Fashion Week AW 12 // Laurèl

Laurèl was definitely one of my favourite shows this season,I think I'd wear the entire collection! The show started of pretty amazing with a model in a sexy black jumpsuit smoking an electric cigarette ( did someone get inspired by Louis Vuitton? ;)) As I later came to know, the jumpsuit was designed by a student from Esmod because she won a contest, who went to a school in the same city I do and who I know a bit, so amazing!

 During BFW I saw a lot of shows in which the main part of the collections was held in simple shades and topped off with bright, sometimes even neon coloured pieces. Laurèl was one of them. The colours used were black, grey, cream, bright blue, green and orange. The pieces were really classy, I especially loved the flared pants which appeared several times. Black headbands, long gloves, socks in high heels and a lot of fur on coats, bags, scarves and even some of the garments added a special touch. To the end of the show designer Elisabeth Schwaiger presented a few chic evening outfits with sequins, feathers and gowns. A great end for a great show!

Berlin Fashion Week AW 12 // Mongrels in Common

Mongrels in Common was one of those shows for me in which you sit and think you'd wear almost every single look. It was classy, not to extravagant but still eye-catching due to the fabrics, combinations and cuts. The show began with a lot of head to toe black looks, later on designer duo added some bright blue and grey. The soft stone-print as seen on the picture above which appeared on several silk pieces throughout the collection was incredibly beautiful. Masculine cuts, some leather and satin applications and big gold chandelier earrings added another special touch.
And the boots - oh my! Leather, block heels, fringes - perfect.

 I'm in love! Livia Carrillo and Christine Pluess, would you like to dress me? ;)

Berlin Fashion Week AW 12 // instagram journal

As I already mentioned in a previous post I didn't take a lot of pictures at BFW this season due to the weather and time issues, but I've prepared a little "moments" post which I'll publish in  a few days. Berlin Fashion Week AW 12 // Escada Sport

Escada Sport was the first show at BFW and a really good start, I liked the collection a lot. The colour palette ranged from simple earthtones, white and black to bright peachy pink and aquamarine.

 Flower, stone and check prints were mixed together which I loved and which added a special touch to the quite classy collection consisting of slim pants, blouses under pullovers and cardigans, straight skirts and dresses and warm coats. The looks were topped off with really cool, pointy, fur lined heels.

 My favourite looks were two velvet dresses with collar and cut-out in black and aquamarine which you can see on the first picture and the following print-mix outfit.

Bye Berlin

Yesterday was the last day of Berlin Fashion Week for me, I'm sitting at the airport right now waiting for my flight back to Frankfurt. Somehow BFW was kind of weird this season, I don't know why, it was over so quickly and I didn't really take that many pictures, because there wasn't a lot to photograph, apart from the usual catwalk pictures. Of course, it was still super amazing, Fashion Weeks always are, the shows I've seen were quite nice, the parties a lot of fun and it was so great to see all my lovely boys and girls :) but something was different compared to the previous seasons and most of the people I've talked to agreed with me. Strange. But I don't want to complain, as I said, I still had a really great time :)

So you can expect show reports and some snapshots, an instagram journal and hopefully some outfit pictures in the following days! Stay tuned :)

Berlin Fashion Week

As you probably know Berlin Fashion Week begins tomorrow and I'm packing my bags right now, because I'm flying to Berlin this evening - yay :) I didn't plan on going this season but somehow the universe has made it possible and I'm really looking forward to it now!

Pre-Fall 2012 - my faves

In my opinion, the Pre-Fall 2012 collections were beyond stunning. I just klicked through them once more on style.com and chose my 9 favourites. You might remeber that I already blogged about the Proenza Schouler collection (klick) which is definitely one of my faves as well :) So here we go

flashback: Dubai

Well, these are the last impressions from our amazing trip to Dubai over Christmas. In my eyes, Dubai is the perfect destination for a vacation: the culture is on the one hand extremely different from the European culture and it's really interesting to explore it, but on the other hand it's also rather similar so that you never feel uncomfortable. Furthermore you have both - the beach and big city life :) And of course, it has a lot to offer for fashion lovers. I enjoyed every second and I'm sure it wasn't my last visit!

P.S.: It's just so amazing how beautiful the city looks at night, with all its lights ♥
